Feed The Homeless
Providing food for the local community who are homeless in Swindon Town - 20th December 2013
Today, Pious Projects recruited some volunteers and together, we were able to hand out food and warm drinks to locals who were homeless in Swindon's local town centre. It was really mind-opening stepping into their shoes as they described how it is to live on the streets, not knowing when your next meal is going to be. One person even further explained how "Sundays for us are called suicide sundays, because no food shelters are open and hostels are full, so we have nowhere to go". This experience really showed us how much we should appreciate what we have and how much these people truly struggle on an everyday basis.
It only took us a few minutes and a couple of pounds to make a HUGE change in these peoples lives. Bring a smile to your local people in need and try something similar :)
